Volunteers are what make this event happen. We appreciate your desire to make our annual bike ride a success! Below are tabs with descriptions of our volunteer opportunities. Each opportunity will have the following Time Frames listed next to it:

Early Morning (Before 9AM)
Morning (9AM-12PM)
Afternoon (12PM-3PM)
Late Afternoon (3PM-6PM)
Evening (6PM-9PM)

Pre-Event Opportunities

Rest Stop Prep Team

Rest Stop Packing (4/3 6PM-8PM @ The Warehouse)
Sort food and supplies that will be distributed to rest stops throughout the ride. Some heavy lifting required.
Minimum Age: 10 with adult

Rest Stop Baking (4/17 – 4/27 @ Home)
Help us stock the rest stops with goodies! Pick up a bag of mix, bake it, and return the baked goods by 4/27.
Minimum Age: All Ages

Route Marking Team: (Week of Event, Morning-Afternoon)
Make the route visible and safe for our participants by driving the route and marking the roads.
Minimum Age: 18 with valid Driver’s License

Event Set-Up Team: (4/28 Morning or Afternoon)
Set-up tables, tents, and more to prepare for event-day.
Minimum Age: 12 with adult

Merchandise Prep Team  (4/28 Morning or Afternoon)
Organize pre-purchased Merchandise so everything is ready for pick-up on Saturday morning.
Minimum Age: 14

Early Check-in Team (4/28 Afternoon or Evening)
Greet, inform and check-in cyclists who have pre-registered for the ride.
Minimum Age: 14 with adult

Care Prep Team: (4/28 Evening)
Prepare food trays and drinks ahead of time, so we’re ready to serve bright and early Saturday morning.
Minimum Age: 12 with adult

Day-Of Opportunities

Admin Team: (Early Morning – Morning)
Organize and record Registration paperwork.
Minimum Age: 18

Balloon Team: (Early Morning)
Cover the Chesapeake Church campus in balloons to add pizzazz to the event-day festivities!
Minimum Age: 12 with adult

Care Team: (Early Morning, Morning or Afternoon)
Care for our cyclists and volunteers by providing them with delicious food and drinks.
Minimum Age: 12 with adult

Check-In Team: (Early Morning – Morning)
Greet, inform and check-in cyclists who have pre-registered for the ride.
Minimum Age: 14 with adult

Clean-up Crew: (Late Afternoon)
Many hands make light work! Break-down the event and return the Chesapeake Church campus to pristine pre-event condition.
Minimum Age: 12 with adult

Facilities Team: (Early Morning, Morning, or Afternoon)
Maintain the cleanliness of Chesapeake’s campus to ensure an excellent guest experience.
Minimum Age: 10 with adult

Merchandise Team: (Early Morning, Morning or Afternoon)
Interact with cyclists as they peruse and purchase End Hunger merchandise.
Minimum Age: 14 

Photo/Video Team: (Early Morning, Morning, or Afternoon)
Capture the excitement of the day through photo and video. Must have previous photo/video experience and own professional-quality equipment.
Minimum Age: 16

Rest Stop Support: (Early Morning, Morning, or Afternoon)
Provide food, drink and a positive experience for participants when they stop at one of our rest stops.
Minimum Age: 10 with adult

Same-Day Registration Team: (Early Morning – Morning)
Greet, inform and register our walk-in guests.
Minimum Age: 18

Shuttle Driver: (Early Morning, Morning or Afternoon)
Our awesome volunteers care for participants by parking off-campus. Serve our volunteers by giving them a ride to and from Chesapeake Church.
Minimum Age: 21 with valid Driver’s License

Traffic Safety Team: (Early Morning)
Welcome, direct, and making room for each of our guests on event day.
Minimum Age: 16

Volunteer Childcare Team: (Early Morning, Morning, or Afternoon)
Care for our volunteers by caring for their children! This is a great opportunity to serve and have your children with you.
Minimum Age: 13

NOTE: Each youth volunteer must have an adult serving directly alongside them.
