Everyone deserves the dignity of self-sufficiency.
Together with our donors, volunteers, and partners, we develop big-picture solutions to support lasting change for the people we serve.
1. We support feeding organizations.
Through our Warehouse, we supply food and other resources to partner feeding organizations throughout Southern Maryland, such as food pantries and HeartFelt Backpack Program.
2. We teach life skills.
- Our Culinary Training program prepares people for a meaningful career in the food service industry.
- Budgeting, personal development, and healthy cooking classes support under-resourced persons as they move from dependency to self-sufficiency.
3. We empower like-valued nonprofits.
Our collaborative workspace uplifts other nonprofits committed to breaking the cycle of poverty.
All people matter and life change happens through relationships.
For excellence in all aspects of our operations and organization.
A growing network helping others become self-sufficient.
Real stories of lasting life change.
As one of EHCC’s administrative volunteers, I have been fortunate to get a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of this remarkable organization. I get to see projects bloom from an idea, to an action plan; from “here’s a problem in the community” to “here’s how we can address it.” Believe me, the work, planning, and coordination that go from identifying a problem to implementing a solution is mind-boggling! I am ever-awed at the impact a small, dedicated staff and an army of volunteers can make.
SMILE Food Pantry Coordinator
It is a remarkable team. The effort they put into it, the kindness they show… I could not speak more highly of End Hunger.
The End Hunger mission statement resonates every time I step into the Culinary classroom and see the students’ smiling faces. They come to learn how to be self sufficient, independent. We celebrate their individual achievements at a formal graduation ceremony! Meeting their families is one of the crowning joys. When I hear the familiar refrain, “I had no idea he/she was capable” or “we didn’t know where to turn to look to their future” or “now, we have hope”…I’ll ask, “when’s the next class?”
